What is the project about?
Against the background of pandemics and in times of digitalisation and the switch to online events, the project “Interprentice” deals with the question of how interdisciplinary, transnational distance learning placements and cooperations can look in a vocational education context. With the global pandemic at the latest, it is clear that job profiles are changing dramatically fast and a rapid shift towards a fully digital working world is taking place. The project wants to give trainees the opportunity to expand the quality of their training by coming into contact with the European idea and interculturality remotely during their training. This way, it is assumed, they will be more amenable to international cooperation and digital working later on.

There will be six main activities within the project.
Activity 1 will analyse the need for digital skills in the craft/electrical sector.
In activity 2, multiplier events will be held in all partner countries to gather inputs.
During Activity 3, a concept will be developed for apprentices to implement an international remote project work.
In Activity 4, this concept will be implemented as an example.
The evaluation of this implementation will take place in activity 5.
The findings of the project will be disseminated in activity 6 and the tested concept will be disseminated among trainees and training centres during 4 multiplier events in all partner countries.

What is the goal?
The project partners expect to end up with a valid concept guide that can be used by VET centres and their trainers, to use transnational, (interdisciplinary) working groups of trainees in project work. Ideal working environments, intercultural preparations, language courses and necessary digital tools will be addressed in that guide. In this way, the partners want to create openness for the European idea and the readiness and will for digital communication and interaction.

The project meeting in Madrid - 21.09.2023

On 21 September, our only transnational project meeting took place in Madrid at our partner IFC.
All participants have set the bar high for the coming project phase through their motivated commitment.

While the trainees are working on their ideas, the project team meets for a coordination.

The project meeting in Madrid was also the kick-off for the core of the INTERPRENTICE project. This was the first and only time that both the project partners and the trainees met in person. From now on, for 20 weeks, they are to develop their own project together and only in the digital space, and to realise it as far as possible. We noticed that a personal meeting, where you can get to know your project partners formally and informally, increases communication and motivation a lot. The project meeting in Madrid was a great success as it provided an efficient space for brainstorming and also strengthened the commitment of all participants to the project. A professional foundation was laid for the coming work phase.

The trainees have developed and presented complex project ideas in a very short period of time.

The course is set for the 20-week work phase.

The first meeting in the digital space ended with a concrete project idea.

Our project working group shares their personal experiences.

Interprentice - Concept for international remote trainee working groups

The concept for international remote working groups is at the same time the result of phase 1 and 2 and the guideline for a successful phase 4, the 20-week project working group.

Who are the partners and what is the duration?
Interprentice runs for 15 months under the direction of TALENTBRÜCKE GmbH & Co. KG and is funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union.  The project consortium consists of members from Germany, Spain, Italy and Slovenia.
